Montgomery College seeks an interpreter to provide interpreting/transliterating services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across the campus. Strong ASL skills and knowledge of ethics are essential.
The role supports educational accessibility and requires collaboration with staff and students on campus in Rockville, MD. Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree and interpreting experience; RID/NAD ethics knowledge is preferred.
The primary responsibility is to provide interpreting/transliterating in a variety of situations related to the educational/accessibility needs of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing students campus-wide.
Interpreters are evaluated based on their educational background and previous interpreting experience. A screening simulation to evaluate receptive and expressive skills and ability to render the message accurately is included in this evaluation process.
Applicant must provide at least 3 references.
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
