Job summary

MoMA in New York is hiring a Temporary Assistant, Art Lab Facilitator to welcome and engage families in the new Art Lab: Imagination installation opening Oct 2026. You will connect visitors with ideas, artists, and artworks, and support family programming across the Museum.

The role emphasizes hospitality, intergenerational engagement, and a flexible schedule, with shifts during holiday periods and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and/or families in informal learning settings.
• Knowledge of modern and contemporary art and artmaking.
• Strong front-facing hospitality and engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and introduce the main ideas of Art Lab to families.
• Suggest age-appropriate activities and connect exploration to artists and artworks in MoMA’s collection.
• Encourage continued exploration in the Museum galleries and beyond.
• Assist with daily maintenance, cleaning, and stocking materials.
• Support family art making and gallery activations during seasonal events.
