Job summary

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is seeking a Manager of Family Programs to lead weekend family activities and the Art Kids Studio. The role focuses on making the museum welcoming and accessible for families with children ages 3–10, coordinating a team of part-time staff, and partnering across departments to expand family programs.

The position requires 5–8 years in museum education or related settings, strong communication skills, and a commitment to DEAI.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated creativity and innovation in developing and leading programs that engage children, families, and intergenerational audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
• 5–8 years of experience in museum education or classrooms.
• At least two (2) years of experience supervising or managing employees, volunteers, or interns.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, preparation, and implementation of Art Kids Studio activities to grow family audiences.
• Oversee a team of part-time staff, including hiring, scheduling, and training weekend staff.
• Imagine and implement Art Kids, a year-round series of drop-in family programs.
• Coordinate weekend Art Kids Studio programs and seasonal holiday programs.
• Support operational needs of the Art Kids Studio, day-to-day and during events.
• Develop and manage budget for Art Kids Studio in collaboration with the Associate Director of Family Programs.
