Job summary

WorkGenius Group in New York, NY seeks a Temporary Architecture and Design Manager to lead global shop-in-shop and retail design initiatives. You will coordinate with Store Development, Visual Merchandising, Construction, Marketing, and external partners to deliver high-end environments on time and within budget.

The role requires strong architectural expertise across design development, documentation, bidding, and construction, plus proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, BIM360, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent education in Architecture or a related field, with experience in retail design, commercial projects, or high-end residential design.
• Strong understanding of all phases of architectural projects, including design development, documentation, bidding, and construction.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office/Excel, Microsoft Project, and SketchUp; experience with Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, BIM360, Smartsheet, or AI design tools is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of millwork standards, details, and construction, combined with analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, balance competing priorities, and travel domestically as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design global shop-in-shops, retail pop-ups, tradeshows, and specialty shops reflecting client vision and delivering an elevated customer experience.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies, millworkers, and general contractors to manage project requirements.
• Produce schematic design drawings, development packages, bid documents, and templates for new shops and renovations.
• Review and approve construction and millwork shop drawings, ensuring brand standards, schedules, and budgets are met.
• Collaborate with fixture teams on custom fixture design while adhering to AutoCAD and project management standards.

Responsibilities

• Design global shop-in-shops, retail pop-ups, tradeshows, and specialty shops that reflect **our client's** creative vision and deliver an elevated customer experience.
• Manage project requirements and coordination with internal teams- including Store Development, Visual Merchandising, Construction, Marketing, and Business- and external agencies, millworkers, and general contractors.
• Produce schematic design drawings, design development packages, bid documents, and templates for new shops, renovations, and restorations.
• Manage consultants and suppliers, review and approve construction and millwork shop drawings, and ensure projects meet brand standards, schedules, and budgets.
• Collaborate with fixture teams on custom fixture design and usage while adhering to AutoCAD, drafting, project management, and directory standards.
