Job summary

Tom Trese in New York is seeking an Architectural Intermediate Technical Designer / Project Professional to lead retail interiors drawing production, coordinate with consultants, and support construction‑phase tasks.

You will create concept‑driven projects, lead coordination on CD/Shop drawings, and attend weekly calls on OAC processes, with travel for site surveys and punch lists as needed. Hybrid in NYC office, 4 days in office plus 1 remote.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of professional experience, preferably focused on retail experience.
• An independent, creative thinker, with the ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Someone who excels in fast-paced, detail-rich project environments.
• A collaborator who values TPG’s approachable, advisory relationship with clients.
• Expert proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. Familiarity with Bluebeam and Adobe Design products is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Building Codes, ADA requirements, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Travel and perform Architectural site surveys.
• Produce detailed and accurate drawing sets across all phases (SD, DD, CD), with a focus on retail-specific detailing and coordination.
• Coordinate closely with external consultants to ensure a complete and coordinated set of construction documents for landlord approval, authorities having jurisdiction, and bidding.
• Assist the Project Manager with the coordination of construction documents for approval.
• Attend virtual weekly OAC calls, review shop drawings and submittals, and respond to general contractor RFIs.
• Attend weekly virtual OAC calls throughout construction.
• Travel for construction site visits including punch-list at completion.

Our client is an award‑winning provider of innovative design solutions. Headquartered in New York City with satellite offices in Long Island, the firm works locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

They have an immediate need for an Intermediate Technical Designer / Project Professional to lead retail‑focused drawing production, coordinate with consultants and project managers, and support construction‑phase activities. The professional will lead, create and execute concept‑driven projects for our retail interiors division. The ideal candidate brings a strong balance of creative concept development and technical execution, with a demonstrated expertise in retail store planning, back‑of‑house coordination, and retail fixturing and millwork design.

Responsibilities

• The ability to travel and perform Architectural site surveys.

Annual Salary Range*: $75K to $115K

Schedule: Full Time | 4 days in office + 1 remote day Location: New York Office
