Job summary

ILSC Education Group in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a Temporary Associate Instructor to plan, teach and evaluate ESL classes for adult students within the ELS curriculum.

You will maintain class records, handle administrative duties, and participate in professional development with guidance from senior staff. Responsibilities include teaching SSP, Vocabulary Enrichment, Reading/Writing, LTC and SECs as assigned, preparing materials, testing and counseling students, and coordinating with other

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or better in English or related field.
• Minimum 6 months ESL teaching experience for those without MA in TESOL or CELTA.
• Certificate or higher in CELTA or TESOL (preferred).
• Master's or higher in Applied Linguistics or TESOL (preferred).
• Master's or higher in TESOL or related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Teach SSP (Structure/Speaking Practice), Vocabulary Enrichment, Reading/Writing, LTC and/or SECs as assigned.
• Prepare lesson plans, exercises and tests.
• Test, evaluate and counsel students regarding performance.
• Maintain classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Coordinate instruction, attendance records and evaluation with other teachers.
• Complete administrative paperwork as required or requested.
• Maintain performance and attendance records.
• Observe other teachers for professional development and be observed.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
• Provide assistance to Associate Instructors and develop/refine teaching materials.
• Disseminate information about after-class activities when requested.
