Job summary

Hood River County School District is seeking a Temporary 6th/7th Grade Science Teacher at Hood River Middle School for Oct 12, 2026 through Feb 12, 2027. The teacher will deliver science instruction to 6th and 7th grade, align with district curriculum, assess student progress, and collaborate with staff and families.

Oregon teaching license with appropriate endorsement is required; bilingual skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Oregon Teaching License with a Middle School or Foundational Science endorsement.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and AVID, PBIS, MTSS preferred.
• Experience with English Language Learners and bilingual preferred.
• Prior middle school science teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advises parents/guardians of student progress to support goals.
• Assess students and provide progress feedback to parents/admin.
• Assist other teachers in implementing curricula.
• Collaborate with school personnel, parents and community agencies.
• Demonstrate instructional methods and lab safety for students.
• Direct instructional assistants and volunteers.
• Instruct students to improve academic success.
• Monitor student activities to ensure a safe environment.
