Job summary

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Saint George, UT is seeking a dedicated grounds maintenance worker to care for temple grounds, ensuring beauty, cleanliness, and a sacred environment for temple guests and staff.

You will work with a team, follow the standards set by the First Presidency, and support volunteers while maintaining landscapes, sidewalks, driveways, and entryways to preserve the temple experience.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of experience in grounds maintenance or related field.
• Knowledge of various plants and fertilizers.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently or with a team.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Mow lawns with hand and power mowers; maintain landscape plan with perennials, shrubs, and trees; trim edges around beds, walls, and walks.
• Prune and shape shrubs and trees to promote healthy growth and aesthetic grounds.
• Spray lawns, shrubs, and trees for diseases, weeds, and insects; fertilize per regulations.
• Maintain all power equipment and machines in good working order.
• Provide guidance to volunteers in grounds maintenance.
• Water lawn and garden areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
