Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in landscape gardening, horticulture, agriculture, grounds maintenance or related field.
• One to two years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Know site characteristics and review landscape plans; understand local climate and soil.
• Develop and supervise grounds crew by hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff.
• Maintain grounds buildings and facilities, ensuring cleanliness and good repair.
• Ensure walks, driveways, parking areas, fences, and grounds are clean, safe, weed- and leaf-free; remove snow as needed.
• Report needed repairs to the building engineer.
• Follow landscape plans for flower beds and borders to ensure year-round appearance.
• Prune trees and shrubs to manage growth, size, and shape.
• Stay within budget.
