Job summary

CIS Secure Computing in Ashburn, VA is seeking a TEMPEST Engineer Trainee to learn the TEMPEST skillset and progress toward Certified TEMPEST Practitioner (CTP) certification. The role includes installation, testing, troubleshooting, and configuring CIS products requiring test, with on-site duties at the Ashburn headquarters.

Qualified candidates will have a strong electronic background, experience with DVM, oscilloscope, signal generator, and hand tools, and must hold an Active Secret

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Training in electronic theory such as at a technical trade school, military training, an Associate degree program, or 2-3 years of on the job training.
• Certified TEMPEST Professional II (CTP-II) certification.
• Experience using Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, DVM, and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively before groups.

Responsibilities

• Test CIS products under CTPII guidance to meet test requirements.
• Modify sub-assemblies and systems per engineering drawings to ensure proper operation.
• Troubleshoot electronics to determine causes and remedies.
• Assist CTPII to diagnose electrical/mechanical problems and propose corrective actions.
• Set up and test units to meet specified requirements.
• Record test data sheets and production reports.
