Job summary

GIGATEC Engineering seeks TEMPEST engineers to join a mission-focused team performing TEMPEST testing and providing engineering recommendations for secure systems. You will learn from subject matter experts and work onsite with customer teams to ensure mission success.

The role requires active Top Secret clearance with polygraph, U.S. work authorization, and no visa sponsorship. You will collaborate with vendors and projects to safeguard information systems through rigorous testing and analysis.

Qualifications

• Requires Top Secret clearance with favorable polygraph completion.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship not available.
• TEMPEST certified technician (Certified TEMPEST Professional Level II) or equivalent (TSSC/TSCM).
• Experience with TEMPEST operations, testing, and reporting is essential.
• Ability to coordinate with TEMPEST vendors and project teams to evaluate products.

Responsibilities

• Conduct TEMPEST testing, design, and analysis to identify vulnerabilities.
• Record test results and raise concerns with clear documentation.
• Work with customers onsite as part of the TEMPEST engagement team.
• Collaborate with SMEs to grow TEMPEST knowledge and share expertise.
• Provide TEMPEST engineering recommendations to strengthen secure systems.

What You’ll Be Doing (We don’t love the bullet points, but we love the work!)

As part of our team, you’ll get to work on a team of TEMPEST engineers and SMEs helping perform TEMPEST testing and provide TEMPEST engineering recommendations to help ensure the security of our nation’s systems . You’ll learn from our existing TEMPEST subject matter experts to grow your knowledge and skills, as well as share your TEMPEST expertise with others. You’ll get to work onsite with the customer, integrated into their team to ensure mission success.

Required Skills

• TEMPEST testing, design, or engineering
• Properly execute TEMPEST test methods and signal analysis
• Record all test results and concerns
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Emanation Security ( EMSEC ) vulnerabilities
• Work with TEMPEST vendors
• Perform Test set up ambient measurements
• Capture and Analyze qualification test data and results and writing reports
• Work with project teams to evaluate products with respect to NSITSSAM
• Verify TESTEST test requirements by the CTTA
• Attend TEM with crypto device user / customer, CSCM and vendor
• Provide testing of certified cryptographic equipment to discover vulnerabilities in secure systems
• Perform TEMPEST testing of COTS equipment to discover the extent of vulnerabilities for countermeasure purposes
• Validate IASRD is applied consistently throughout the IC

Desired Skills

• IC experience in relevant technical or RF experience preferred. Set up Equipment under test (EUT) enclosure in accordance with Govt specs
