Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a Warehouse Team Lead I to coordinate activities on the warehouse floor and provide on-the-job training. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and ensuring customer requirements are met with quality processes.

You will interact with management and customers, while guiding up to 15 team members. The position requires strong organizational skills, reliability, and experience with scanners/tablets for data entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience as a team lead or supervisor.
• Ability to manage a team of up to 15 people.
• Willingness to work days, afternoons, nights, overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the inspection process for customer products.
• Lead by example and maintain good housekeeping on the facility floor.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and report incidents promptly.
• Coordinate shift start activities and ensure needed tools are available.
• Provide on-the-job training for new work instructions when applicable.
• Be accountable for personnel and tasks assigned to the jobs.
• Interact with the customer to ensure satisfaction on a regular cadence.
• Document paperwork daily and ensure materials and PPE are available.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Team Lead I will manage/coordinate and monitor the activities of the assigned work area. Provide on-the-job training as needed. Interact with the Customer at all levels of Management. Ensure completion of work and customer requirements while complying with all company quality and safety processes. May provide input to the Onsite Manager regarding performance.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

• Oversee the inspection process, and the inspection of customer products for the assigned tables.
• Lead by example, be organized, and practice good housekeeping skills in all areas of the facility.
• Ensure all employees work safely and in accordance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Report any accidents or incidents that occur within the facility immediately to a supervisor.
• Responsible for the coordination of shift start activities prior to start time (table requirements, paperwork, and other required duties.
• Ensure appropriate tools and materials are available for completion of jobs on site.
• Provide on-the-job training for any new work instructions when applicable.
• Be accountable for all personnel assigned to specific jobs.
• Provide input to Onsite Manager regarding completion of objectives and assigned tasks.
• Report any policy or procedure violations to Onsite Manager.
• Participate, support and comply with all health and safety initiatives and requirements.
• Interact with the Customer on a daily/weekly/monthly frequency ensuring complete Customer Satisfaction.
• Ensure proper and accurate documentation, paperwork is submitted on a daily basis.
• Ensure appropriate tool kits (Laptop/Printer/Tools), certification stickers, required PPE and materials are available for completion of jobs.
• Comply with all Customer and tk regulations and work rules.
• Maintain Customer Site badge access where required.
• Perform cycle time studies to help supervisor/manager in the quoting of each new job.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor or around heavy machinery.

• Reliable attendance is an essential part of this position
• Experience in automotive or industrial setting is an asset – we are willing to train for the right person!
• Must be comfortable working with scanners and tablets for data keeping and time entries
• Previous professional interactions with customers and/or vendors
• Must read, write and speak basic English
• Computer literate, able to utilize MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and email software
• Safety Mindset

Preferred Requirements:

• Forklift experience
• Understanding of measurement units and tolerancing; ability to train others in this area
