Job summary

National Waste Management Co. is seeking a dedicated Sorter to join our operations team in a fast-paced waste management environment. You will sort and organize materials for processing, ensuring efficiency and safety.

You will safely sort recyclables and waste streams, assist with heavy items, inspect loads, and coordinate with equipment operators. Adherence to safety policies and emergency procedures is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in sorting or waste management preferred.
• Ability to dig through materials efficiently and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting.
• Capability to lift heavy objects safely and follow proper lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently sort and segregate recoverable materials from incoming waste streams.
• Safely deposit materials into designated chutes.
• Assist sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies, including conveyor belt operation in emergencies.
• Inspect incoming loads to identify and remove unacceptable waste items.
• Communicate with equipment operators regarding special waste loads.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
