Job summary

Axiom Staffing Group is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Programmer for a growing manufacturing company in Winchester, VA. This temp-to-hire role requires strong programming and setup experience to produce precision components that meet tight quality specifications.

You will program, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code and M-code, read blueprints, set up tooling and fixturing, and inspect parts with precision instruments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous CNC machining and programming experience required.
• Experience with CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Working knowledge of G-code, M-code, and CNC control systems.
• CAM software experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment.
• Program, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using G-code and M-code.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Perform precision machining operations while maintaining required tolerances.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Set up tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets for production runs.
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Maintain production and quality records.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Support continuous improvement and production goals.
