Qualdoc is seeking a CNC Machinist/Programmer in Ashland, VA for a first-shift, full-time role. You will program, set up, and operate CNC equipment to make precision parts in an industrial setting, adhering to tight tolerances and safety standards. The position includes a 56-hour week on certain schedules and potential temp-to-hire after 90 days.

Candidates should read drawings, develop CNC programs, and use multiple controls (G-code) while maintaining quality and meeting target timelines.

Qualifications

• Experience programming and operating CNC machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret machining drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with CNC lathes, mills, and G-code programming.
• Knowledge of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances.
• Commitment to workplace safety and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret machining drawings and technical specifications.
• Create CNC programs, set up machines, and operate CNC lathes and mills.
• Machine components to precise specifications, including tolerance as tight as 0.0005 mm.
• Use G-code and CNC controls (Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, Heidenhain).
• Measure and verify finished parts using precision instruments.
• Maintain consistent part quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Follow shop safety procedures and meet scheduled hours, including Saturday shifts.
