Job summary

Abilene ISD is seeking a Temporary Worker - Student Nutrition Specialist (Pooled) to prepare and serve meals district-wide in our schools. This role emphasizes following planned recipes, portion control, and ensuring food safety and sanitation during production and service.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a Food Handlers certificate, and the ability to operate kitchen equipment and perform basic arithmetic. Experience is not required, but reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• Food Handlers certification required.
• Ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation and Serving
• Prepare quality food according to planned recipes
• Serve food according to meal schedules and procedures
• Practice and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food items and supplies in a safe manner. Maintain a clean and organized storage area.
