Job summary

nLIGHT in Camas, WA is seeking an Equipment Technician to maintain and service Test & Bonding tools and facilities. You will perform setup, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance, using CMMS data and SPC to keep equipment in control.

The role requires 3+ years of maintenance experience (preferred), an Associate Degree in Electronics or related field, and the ability to work in a clean room environment. Shift work with competitive hourly pay offered.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years equipment maintenance experience (preferred)
  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology or equivalent
  • Strong background in Equipment Maintenance
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic drawings, and piping schematics
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Ability to write technical procedures and work instructions
  • General understanding of SPC
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment, from ladders, and lift (<75 lbs)
  • Shift work is required
  • On-call rotation possible

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall operation and reliability of tools and facilities
  • Set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, and perform preventive maintenance on Test & Bonding equipment using CMMS
  • Assist installation of process tools
  • Collect and evaluate equipment data to ensure baselines and quality standards
  • Create preventive maintenance procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement through team suggestions
  • Recommend new or improved procedures
  • Manage lab safety, spare parts inventory, and 5S organization
  • Cross-train technicians
  • Support operations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Shift B: Sunday‑Tuesday bi‑Wednesday 1P‑1A
  • Shift D: Thursday‑Saturday bi‑Wednesday 1P‑1A
Functions
  • Responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of tools and facilities
  • Performs set‑up, calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades and preventative maintenance tasks on Test & Bonding equipment using CMMS system
  • Supports installation of process tools
  • Collects and evaluates equipment data, including SPC, to ensure equipment baselines and operations remain in control and quality maintenance standards are met
  • Creates preventative maintenance procedures
  • Drives/enables suggestions from the team and other sources to implementation, resulting in continuous improvement
  • Provides recommendations for new or improved procedures
  • Responsible for lab safety, spare part inventory, and 5S organization
  • Cross trains other technicians
  • Supports operations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Ideal candidate will have 3+ years equipment maintenance experience. (not required)
  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Manufacturing Technology or equivalent working experience desired
  • Strong background in Equipment Maintenance
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics, pneumatic drawings, and piping schematics
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skill
  • Ability to write technical procedures and work instructions
  • General understanding of SPC
  • Intermediate Microsoft office and computer skills
  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment, work from ladders, and lift (<75lbs)
  • Shift work is required
  • Prefer prior experience of the Emergency Response Team with ability to wear respirators and SCBA equipment
  • Demonstrates personal modesty with the intent to enhance teamwork dynamics within the group and between cross‑functional area
  • Ability to be on call on a rotating basis, if needed
Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay depends on qualifications:

  • Equipment Technician I - $24.00 to $30.00 per hour
  • Equipment Technician II - $26.00 to $33.80 per hour
  • Sr Equipment Technician - $28.50 to $38.50 per hour
  • Shift differentials are paid at the rate of 10% for hours worked between 5:30PM and 12:00AM and at 15% for hours worked between 12:00AM and 5:30AM
  • Eligible for health benefits on the 1st day of the month after your start date
