Job summary

North Slope Borough School District is seeking an experienced school bus driver to transport students and authorized personnel safely to and from schools in Alaska. The role requires a valid Alaska CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement, the ability to pass background checks, and a commitment to safety and punctuality.

Responsibilities include following routes, maintaining discipline on board, performing pre-trip inspections, and adhering to district rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years related experience or training.
• Valid Alaska CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement.
• First Aid certification.
• Proficiency in English for speaking, reading and writing.

Responsibilities

• Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline when students are on the bus and report problems.
• Keep the bus clean and well maintained.
• Follow assigned route and schedule.
• Inspect the bus before operation and notify authorities of mechanical issues.
• Transport and discharge students only at authorized stops.
• Complete required training sessions.
• Follow District rules and regulations.
