Job summary

LUTACAGA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Othello, Washington is seeking a Paraprofessional-Temporary for the 2026-27 school year. The role supports teachers with small-group and individual instruction, monitors student safety, and assists with classroom activities.

Starting date is TBD. Salary follows the PSE contract and shifts are 6.5 hours per day. This is a temporary position for 26-27 school year with 179 work days and 7 holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree or 48 semester credits or 72-quarter credits or ParaPro test.
• Dependable, trustworthy, good time management and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with small group and individual instruction.
• Assist teachers in all areas of work and correct daily student work.
• Operate equipment such as copy machines, video equipment and computers.
• Support students in teacher-monitored classrooms and monitor objectives.
• Provide for student safety and help develop self-help and motor skills.
• Communicate with parents and translate as needed.
• Implement behavioral intervention strategies as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principal/administrator.
