City of Garland is seeking a cart attendant to stage carts each morning, clean and fuel them, and return carts to the cart barn at day’s end. You will help ensure carts are ready for players and assist with range duties at the course.
The role emphasizes strong customer service, safety awareness, and the ability to follow golf course rules while working outdoors in varying weather conditions. A valid Texas driver’s license is required.
Responsible for staging carts which includes bringing carts from the cart barn in the morning, cleaning, fueling and checking carts after each use and returning carts to cart barn at the end of the day.
Pay Range: $12.00 - $15.00 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public.
Ensure that carts are available for player use at all times.
Ensure that practice range is open and ready for players in the mornings and will pick, clean and fill dispenser with range balls throughout the day.
Enforce established rules of course among golfers such as out of bound areas, cart regulations, wearing of proper clothing and practicing at designated sites.
Work closely with Pro Shop staff to prepare for and conduct golf tournaments.
Ensure the clubhouse and practice range areas are kept orderly and clean, including restrooms and trash receptacles.
Responds to complaints from golfers.
Operate a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
No experience required
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
1 year experience in similar role
Basic knowledge of golf tournament and league operations
Exceptional customer service skills
Skill in communicating effectively with customers
Ability to address and resolve concerns/issues raised by golf patrons
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
Valid Class C Texas driver's license
The incumbent works outside with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental and varying weather conditions or hazards including exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. Occasional work and other physical labor such as standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending/stooping, kneeling and squatting. Must be able to lift/carry/move, at times, 40-50 pound
