Job summary

Planned Parenthood California Central Coast is seeking a Medical Assistant to handle patient intake for reproductive health services with a nurturing, non-judgmental approach. You will use NextGen EHR to enter patient data and coordinate with healthcare teams across six centers.

The role requires patient-centered communication, attention to detail, and flexibility in hours. Starting at $26.57/hour with bilingual Spanish/English differential pay after language assessment, this on-site position

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certificate is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
• Excellent computer skills, experience with Electronic Health Care systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, make appointments, prepare and assemble patient information, process lab results.
• Enter patient information in the EHR (NextGen).
• Maintain patient records for completeness and signatures.
• Complete related financial paperwork for clients.
• Copy/transfer medical information as needed following PPCCC guidelines.
• Assist with prescription refill visits.
• Follow infection control, safety and emergency guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for activities related to clients seeking reproductive services specifically patient intake for reproductive health services. Must be able to work on computers and assist clients in a patient, non-judgmental, empathetic manner and provide excellent customer service with a tone that is nurturing and accommodating to all.

Schedule

40 hrs/week

Essential Functions

• Greet patients, make appointments, prepare and assemble patient information, process lab results.
• Enter patient information as part of EHR in NextGen.
• Maintain patient records, checking for completeness, errors, signatures.
• Complete related financial paperwork for clients.
• Copy/transfer medical information/charts as needed and per PPCCC guidelines.
• Assist with prescription refill visits.
• Comply with infection control, safety and emergency guidelines.
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
• Follow all mandated reporting PPCCC policies.

Each position has a salary based on market value and the organization’s pay levels. The starting salary for this position is $26.57/hour with the opportunity for advancement.

Pay Differential: $1.00/hour bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
