Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Temporary HR Generalist for the Cass Clay Creamery in Fargo, North Dakota. This on-site assignment runs from November 2026 through end of April 2027, reporting to the plant's General Manager.

The role covers recruiting, compensation and benefits, training, employee relations, EEO/AAP compliance, and related HR activities. You will administer payroll, benefits enrollment, LOA and leave tracking, HR reporting, and HRIS data management.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 2 to 5 years of progressive generalist Human Resources experience.
• Experience with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Certification and/or License - Human Resources certifications preferred (e.g., SHRM, HRCI).
• Working knowledge of HR principles, concepts, and practices.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local HR and payroll requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer the recruitment process for non-exempt and/or exempt positions.
• Coordinate requisitions, postings, candidate communications, interview schedules, onboarding, and related tasks.
• Assist in interviewing, coach managers on interview processes, and support onboarding.
• Process payroll for employees and apply wage/labor laws to payroll.
• Provide employee records administrative support and process status changes.
• Prepare EEO/AAP reporting documents and HR reports.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment, wellness initiatives, FMLA/STD programs, leaves of absence, and return-to-work tracking.
• Communicate HR programs and updates to employees and leadership; ensure confidentiality.
• Support learning management system (DairyU) administration and HRIS data management.
• Participate in special projects across performance management, onboarding, compensation, and training.
