Job summary

The College of Southern Maryland in La Plata, MD, is seeking a part-time volleyball assistant to support all facets of the program. This role includes recruiting athletes, scheduling games and practices, assisting with competition preparation, and contributing to community engagement efforts.

• Coaching or playing experience at the college level is required.
• Ability to recruit student-athletes and manage practice/competition planning.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, teach and coach student-athletes during practice and competition.
• Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes.
• Assist with selection, purchase, fitting and maintenance of team equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
• Plan practice and competition strategy in partnership with head coach.
• Ensure team compliance with league, conference and institutional rules.
• Promote sportsmanship, integrity, and well-being among student athletes.
• Foster a supportive and competitive team culture aligned with the department's mission and goals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsible for assisting with all aspects of a collegiate volleyball program, including, but not limited to, recruiting student-athletes, scheduling, competition and practice preparation, individual and program development, and community engagement.

Work Schedule: 20 hours per week
