The role requires 4+ years in digital news, strong editing and writing skills, and a sharp understanding of SEO, analytics, and media law. The schedule is Mon-Fri, 12-8pm EST, with a hybrid model open to New York City or Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a digital newsroom with writing and editing.
• Exceptional editing, writing, and reporting skills.
• Strong editorial judgment and voice.
• Solid understanding of media law and best practices.
• SEO-aware with ability to craft engaging headlines.
• Familiarity with CMS and web analytics tools.
• Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Assign and edit multiple stories daily from a team of writers.
• Write daily SEO-optimized entertainment news stories.
• Pitch ideas to advance stories and stay competitive.
• Exercise strong editorial judgment in a fast-paced setting.
• Leverage traffic analytics to inform coverage decisions.
• Respond rapidly to developing stories under pressure.
• Collaborate with social, video, photo, and cross-functional teams.
