Job summary

Qualifications

  • Technical training or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment, instrumentation, soldering, circuit troubleshooting, 3D printing, and laser cutting.
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and digital fabrication techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot electronics laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Assist faculty and students with circuit construction, soldering, testing, measurement, and electronic prototyping.
  • Support laboratory activities involving embedded systems, sensors, data acquisition, instrumentation, 3D printing, and laser cutting.
  • Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for instructional use.
  • Maintain inventories of electronic components, digital fabrication materials, test equipment, and laboratory supplies.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instrumentation, 3D printers, and laser cutters.
  • Promote safe laboratory practices and maintain an organized laboratory environment.

Position Overview:

The Temporary Electronics & Instrumentation Technician supports engineering teaching laboratories by maintaining electronics and instrumentation equipment, assisting with laboratory activities, and helping students and faculty with electronic prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and digital fabrication.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electronics laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Assist faculty and students with circuit construction, soldering, testing, measurement, and electronic prototyping.
  • Support laboratory activities involving embedded systems, sensors, data acquisition, instrumentation, 3D printing, and laser cutting.
  • Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for instructional use.
  • Maintain inventories of electronic components, digital fabrication materials, test equipment, and laboratory supplies.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instrumentation, 3D printers, and laser cutters.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical training or equivalent experience in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field.
