Job summary

Kaleida Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a temporary position at Buffalo General Medical Center. The role supports patient flow in clinical and clerical areas, under supervision of a nurse or physician, with duties spanning information gathering, health teaching and supportive care.

Requires an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Office Assisting and CMA certification on hire, plus PC skills. Experience in a medical office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates of Applied Science in Medical Office Assisting required.
• Certified Medical Assistant upon hire required.
• Certification/Registration through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
• Successful completion of the basic PC Skills assessment required.
• 1 year of experience in a Medical Office Setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient flow in both the clinical and clerical areas to provide care appropriate to the patient’s age.
• Perform tasks and responsibilities within the framework of medical information gathering, health teaching, health counseling and provision of supportive care under the direction of a registered professional nurse or licensed physician, dentist or other licensed health care provider.
• Adheres to Kaleida policies and standards of practice.
