Georgia Tech invites applications for a Writing Consultant to support applicants to graduate schools and prestigious fellowships. You will meet with students in one-on-one sessions, assist with essays, and coordinate with the Prestigious Fellowships team to prepare top candidates for Marshall, Fulbright, and Knight-Hennessy opportunities.

This position reports to the Assistant Director, Prestigious Fellowships
Provide professional services in support of unit management in field as specified in the particular job posting. Focus will be in a professional field such as Communications, Marketing, Customer Service, Academic Administration, Event Management, Procurement, etc. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. Job Duty 1: Perform duties related to professional field assignment.
Job duty 2: Participate in reviews for compliance with policy and governmental regulations in the field.
Job Duty 3: Provide input to department policies and procedures.
Job Duty 4: May provide input to and administer project timelines and budgets.
Job Duty 5: May interact with vendors regarding procurement and delivery issues.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience: Up to two years of job - related experience
2 or more years teaching or tutoring English composition
2 or more years in academic advising, classroom instruction, or student services in higher education
Masters degree in business administration, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Leadership Development, or a related field strongly preferred
Compensation: $30 per hour
This job requires application of professional principles, processes and practices; application of regulations; utilization of basic and advanced computer applications including those specific to areas of responsibility; communication skills.

The Writing Consultant will support Georgia Tech's applicants to graduate schools as well as candidates for prestigious fellowship opportunities (such as the Marshall, Fulbright, and Knight-Hennessy Scholarships). They will:
meet with students in one-on-one consulting sessions to review and discuss application essays and other application materials
gather with Specialized Advising advisors for regular training and debriefing sessions
The writing consultant will work closely with the Assistant Director for Prestigious Fellowships team and will meet with team members regularly for training, planning, and discussing the needs of specific advisees.
