Job summary

Amity Foundation in California seeks compassionate counselors to join the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program. You will provide face-to-face rehabilitative services in prison facilities, delivering group and individual sessions and supporting treatment planning and documentation.

The role emphasizes motivational interviewing, CBT, and collaboration with CDCR and in-prison staff. Non-exempt, hourly position with benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with a DHCS-approved organization.
• AOD certification must be obtained within five years of registration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
• Implement scheduled program curriculum and utilize motivational interviewing, CBT, and other therapeutic processes.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce participation and completion.
• Develop and implement treatment/action plans with participants and educate on community reentry.
• Review treatment plans and document progress and changes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, confidential participant records and documentation.

About the Position:

As a Registered/Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I, you will support the community by delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming services provided in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT).

What You Will Do:

• Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
• Effectively implement scheduled program curriculum. Leads and participates in face-to-face group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapeutic processes.
• Engage participants daily, reinforce group rules and expectation for participation and completion.
• Works directly with participants to develop and implement treatment/action plans and educate participants about supportive networks as they return to the community.
• Review treatment plans, evaluate and record treatment progress, records visible changes in appearance, behavior and demeanor of program participants.
• Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential participant records. Evaluates and documents the progress of participants assigned to their groups.
• Completes all delivery documentation requirements. Summarizes participants' background, treatment plan, and recovery process outcomes.
• Prepares accurate, concise, informative reports, records and plans that are consistent with Amity standards, and complies with applicable clinical and administrative rules.
• Liaise with transition/reentry staff, plans and prepares transitional documents as directed by CDCR for continued community program activities.
• Works collaboratively with CDCR, DRP, CCHCS and institution staff. Supports and collaborates co-faculty, including but not limited to Supervisors, Directors and RegionalDirectors.
• Participate in monthly, block, cross-training, curriculum training, technical assistance training, or other training as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
