Job summary

Zekai is seeking experienced Telugu Linguistic Experts for a remote contract role to support an AI research project with a leading research lab. You will evaluate LLM Telugu outputs, edit content for linguistic quality, and annotate data to improve model understanding and generation capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a native or near-native Telugu speaker with translation/editing/NLP data experience, strong linguistic insight, and comfortable working in a distributed, remote team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

This role centers on evaluating how effectively a large language model (LLM) performs in Telugu-language tasks and on curating high-quality Telugu linguistic data to train and improve the model's understanding and generation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the quality and accuracy of LLM-generated Telugu text across various use cases (e.g., translation, summarization, dialogue, grammar correction).

• Edit, refine, or rewrite Telugu content to meet linguistic and cultural standards.

• Annotate Telugu text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features.

• Identify model errors and language gaps, and collaborate with AI researchers to improve LLM performance.

• Provide detailed linguistic feedback and analysis to guide ongoing model training efforts.

You're a strong fit if you have:

• Native or near-native fluency in Telugu, with excellent command over grammar, syntax, and stylistics.

• Professional experience in translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work in Telugu.

• Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, regional variations, and context-appropriate usage.

• Interest in AI and LLM-driven language technologies (preferred but not required).
