Rize Beyond Banking in Lynwood, CA is seeking a friendly Teller to be the first point of contact for members, handling deposits, withdrawals, and inquiries while creating a welcoming experience.

This part-time role (24–28 hours/week) emphasizes accurate transactions, cross-selling opportunities, and digital banking support. Bilingual English/Spanish are desirable; strong interpersonal skills and a high school diploma required.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of experience in retail, sales, customer service, or a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience handling cash, processing transactions, or working in financial services is a plus.
  • Experience meeting goals or working in a performance-driven environment is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Greet members warmly, create a positive first impression, and manage lobby traffic.
  • Engage members in conversation to understand their needs and ensure they feel welcomed and valued.
  • Respond to member inquiries and provide guidance or connect them with the appropriate team member for additional support.
  • Ensure a seamless experience by providing clear next steps and follow-up when needed.
  • Assist with online and mobile banking, remote deposit, debit card services, and other digital tools.
  • Educate members on self-service options such as online banking, mobile apps, and ATMs.
  • Troubleshoot basic digital banking issues and refer more complex concerns as needed.
  • Work closely with branch team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on service excellence.

We’re looking for a Teller to be the first point of contact for our members—creating a welcoming experience while supporting their everyday banking needs. In this role, you’ll provide exceptional service, process transactions accurately, and build strong member relationships. You’ll also play an important part in identifying opportunities to recommend financial solutions that support our members’ goals.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, staying active throughout the day, and being part of a collaborative branch environment.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are desired for this role.

Schedule
  • TBD - 24 hours per week not to exceed 28 hours/week
What You’ll Do
Member Service & Experience
  • Greet members warmly, create a positive first impression, and manage lobby traffic.
  • Engage members in conversation to understand their needs and ensure they feel welcomed and valued.
  • Respond to member inquiries and provide guidance or connect them with the appropriate team member for additional support.
  • Ensure a seamless experience by providing clear next steps and follow-up when needed.
Transaction Processing & Accuracy
  • Process member transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and account maintenance.
  • Follow established policies and procedures while maintaining accuracy and balancing standards.
  • Use sound judgment when handling transactions and resolving routine issues.
  • Actively recommend and cross-sell credit union products and services based on member needs.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce services such as checking and savings accounts, loans, and digital banking tools.
  • Support branch goals by contributing to membership growth and product adoption.
Digital Support & Education
  • Assist members with online and mobile banking, remote deposit, debit card services, and other digital tools.
  • Educate members on self-service options such as online banking, mobile apps, and ATMs.
  • Troubleshoot basic digital banking issues and refer more complex concerns as needed.
  • Work closely with branch team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist with branch activities and provide coverage support when needed.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on service excellence.
What You Bring
Experience
  • At least 6 months of experience in retail, sales, customer service, or a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Experience handling cash, processing transactions, or working in financial services is a plus.
  • Experience meeting goals or working in a performance-driven environment is helpful.
Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage members and explain information clearly.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use sound judgment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly desirable.
Technical Skills
  • Comfortable using computers, internal systems, and digital tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with mobile apps, online banking, or digital platforms is a plus.
