Job summary

Newfirst-National-Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Teller Floater to provide exceptional service across Rosenberg, Needville and Sugar Land locations. You will handle deposits, loan payments, cash checks, and assist customers with online banking, maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

A high school diploma, teller training completion, and 6 months to 1 year cash handling experience are preferred. Strong communication and ability to cross-sell are valued assets.

• Be familiar with bank products and services.
• Previous sales or retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes deposits.
• Receives and processes loan payments.
• Cashes checks and other negotiable instruments for clients.
• Verifies endorsements and negotiability of documents.
• Processes transfers between accounts.
• Issues Cashier Checks, Loan Checks and Temporary Checks.
• Performs night drop functions as assigned.
• Responsible for the processing of the Savings Bonds and that they are completed accurately.
• Accept Stop Payments, Wires, Change of Address requests.
• Assist customers with Online Banking and Mobile Banking Inquiries.
• Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of Reg CC Holds.
• Responsible for completing Cash Transaction Reports and $3,000 Log accurately and according to regulation and current laws.
• Verifies and balances cash daily.
• Responsible for monitoring cash levels and balancing cash.
• Ensure that all proof documents are correct and arrive within established time limits.
• Maintain and build new banking relationships
• Ensures that client requests and inquires are resolved in a professional manner.
• Assist with opening new deposit, savings, safe deposit boxes and certificates of deposits.
• Assist clients with debit cards, and credit card inquiries.
• Knowledgeable of all technology utilized as related to the areas of responsibility.
• Follow through on established Training Curriculum.
• Maintains privacy of customer information.
• Cross sells Banks products and services.

Requirements

Minimum Level of Preparation and Training

• A high school diploma or equivalent.

• Be familiar with bank products and services.

• Have the ability to recognize a sales situation and transfer to the Personal Bankers.
• Have a pleasant and friendly telephone demeanour and voice.
• Be motivated and able to cross-sell all bank services, when appropriate.
• Have a full knowledge of all areas of the bank, or be able to learn them quickly.
• Be fully knowledgeable about all bank products and services.
• Have a broad knowledge of the host computer system and bank’s LAN network.
• Be able to deal effectively and tactfully with customers and personnel from other departments and branches.
