Position Purpose
Provide expert cashiering and other available services quickly and courteously. Present a professional image at all times. Create opportunities to cross-sell the credit union's benefits and services, referring members to appropriate personnel as needed. Maintain integrity and security of cash funds. Develop and maintain exemplary public relations skills and job responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Member Focus/Teller Duties: Assist members with accounts via phone, drive-up, or front teller line. Handle transfers, withdrawals, deposits, Visa advances, address changes, counter checks, safe box entries, account closures, skip payments, etc. Follow check limit guidelines and seek approval for items above limits. Assist with shared branching transactions. Verify check balances.
- Policy Compliance: Follow credit union rules, regulations, and department policies. Meet BSA and CTR guidelines.
- Aggregate Teller Balancing: Maintain over and short GL within limits. Account for all moneys and keep cash drawer within limits.
- Sales & Service Performance: Refer products and services, track referrals, and use program software. Make quality referrals to members and non-members. Engage in sales efforts including referrals, mystery shops, and calls.
- Decision Making and Judgment: Make timely, well-researched decisions. Identify potential fraud or negotiable items to prevent loss.
- Self/Time Management: Work independently with minimal supervision. Manage time effectively across responsibilities.
- Teamwork and Cooperation: Foster a positive, professional environment. Practice cooperation, understanding, respect, and sensitivity.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Teller training or cash handling experience
- Basic office skills with minimum typing speed of 20 wpm
