Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months of cash handling, customer service, or retail sales experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
• Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
• Friendly, detail-oriented and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Credit Union professionally and in line with Fortera standards.
• Process routine transactions including cashing checks, deposits, withdrawals, credit card cash advances, loan payments, check orders, and transfers.
• Receive checks for endorsement and negotiability following guidelines.
• Balance cash drawer and follow proper balancing procedures.
• Ensure member requests and questions are resolved promptly.
• Complete account maintenance requests such as changes to contact information.
• Work with branch team to provide excellent service to members.
• Communicate significant problems to branch management.
• Perform drive-up teller and night drop functions as assigned.
• Refer cross-sell opportunities to Relationship Managers for loans, new accounts, etc.
• Complete required compliance training and follow regulations (OFAC, BSA/AML, USA Patriot).
• Perform other duties as assigned; may work at any location with extended hours, holidays, Saturdays.

As a Teller, you’ll be a trusted resource for our members—welcoming them, helping them with their everyday banking needs, answering questions, and creating a member experience that keeps them coming back with their financial needs.

What You’ll Do

• Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner in line with the Fortera brand and service standards.
• Accurately process routine transactions including but not limited to cashing checks, depositing cash and checks, cash and check withdrawals, credit card cash advances, loan payments, check orders, and transfers.
• Receives checks for proper endorsement and negotiability by following credit union check acceptance guidelines
• Processes all transactions efficiently and accurately to maintain a balanced cash drawer by following proper balancing procedures.
• Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly resolved.
• Accurately completes account maintenance requests such as contact information changes.
• Actively works with branch team to provide members an excellent service experience.
• Openly communicates with branch management team any significant problems or concerns
• Performs drive-up teller and night drop functions as assigned.
• Refers cross-sell opportunities for Credit Union products and services to Relationship Managers – i.e., loans, new accounts, etc.
• Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position to include OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Act and USA Patriot compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
• Works at any Credit Union location required which may include extended hours, holidays, and Saturdays
