Job summary

Fortera Credit Union in Nashville, TN is seeking a friendly Bank Teller to join our team. In this full-time role you’ll greet members, process transactions, and help with daily banking needs while upholding our service standards.

You’ll handle cash, deposits, check transactions, and member inquiries, with attention to accuracy and compliance. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred to better serve our diverse membership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months cash handling or customer service experience preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
• Process routine transactions accurately (cash checks, deposits, withdrawals, transfers).
• Maintain balanced cash drawer and complete account maintenance requests.
• Assist members and provide excellent service; escalate issues when needed.
• Comply with regulations and complete required training.
• Work at multiple locations as needed and support branch team.

As a Teller, you’ll be a trusted resource for our members—welcoming them, helping them with their everyday banking needs, answering questions, and creating a member experience that keeps them coming back with their financial needs.

What You’ll Do

• Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner in line with the Fortera brand and service standards.
• Accurately process routine transactions including but not limited to cashing checks, depositing cash and checks, cash and check withdrawals, credit card cash advances, loan payments, check orders, and transfers.
• Receives checks for proper endorsement and negotiability by following credit union check acceptance guidelines
• Processes all transactions efficiently and accurately to maintain a balanced cash drawer by following proper balancing procedures.
• Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly resolved.
• Accurately completes account maintenance requests such as contact information changes.
• Actively works with branch team to provide members an excellent service experience.
• Openly communicates with branch management team any significant problems or concerns
• Performs drive-up teller and night drop functions as assigned.
• Refers cross-sell opportunities for Credit Union products and services to Relationship Managers – i.e., loans, new accounts, etc.
• Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position to include OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Act and USA Patriot compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
• Works at any Credit Union location required which may include extended hours, holidays, and Saturdays
