Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, as scheduled, and approximately 2 Saturdays per month. 35-40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide a variety of teller and savings/checking account services such as handling deposits, withdrawals, payments, greeting customers, and maintaining accounts.
- Explore customer needs and cross-sell services that are in the best interest of the customer. Make appropriate referrals to other departments.
- Provide superior customer service, conduct relationships and activities consistent with bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Occasional backup for New Accounts, as needed.
- Handle daily deposit services including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier's checks, money orders, stop payments, transfers, direct deposits, cash advances, etc.
- Maintain cash drawer within prescribed limits, and ensure accurate cash handling and balancing.
- Verify and balance cash drawer daily, maintain records of cash over/short, and assist in identifying cash discrepancies.
- Prepare forms for Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance, including obtaining necessary customer documentation.
- Understand and apply compliance and regulatory issues related to teller and customer service areas.
- Practice security procedures and understand post-robbery protocols.
- Maintain a neat and secure work area, ensuring all records are secured or disposed of properly.
- Demonstrate proficiency in customer service, actively listen, and resolve issues tactfully and diplomatically.
- Identify and act on sales opportunities, cross-selling bank products and services.
- Participate in sales and STEP programs, attend training, and work with managers to meet goals.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of all bank products and services.
- Assist colleagues as needed and perform vault and ATM balancing responsibilities if assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; or high school senior in a Cooperative Education Program.
- Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
- Basic math skills, PC and typing skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate banking equipment.
Physical and Work Environment
- Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, see, hear, and use hands.
- Lift up to 25 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Work is performed in a typical office environment, with potential exposure to hazards like robbery; detailed instructions are provided to minimize risk.
