Position Summary

  • The Telephone Triage Nurse provides phone triage and clinical advice based on Schmitt-Thompson Triage Clinical Content (STCC) nurse guidelines and protocols.
  • The population scope includes newborns to the elderly and directs to the appropriate access to care including immediate triage to EMS, a provider, or follow-up in the ambulatory setting.
  • Associates degree in Nursing or higher is required
  • Registered Nurse Licensure - State of North Carolina - is required
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years clinical nursing experience in Emergency, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Behavioral Health, Critical Care, or Medical/Surgical units is required
  • One year of clinical experience can be substituted for clinical certification or prior triage or health coaching experience.
  • Triage/Clinical Call Center experience is preferred

  • Location/Department: ECU Health Medical Center (based in Greenville, NC) - Nurse Advice Line
  • This remote position supplements a 24/7 department (PRN) and is needed for any shift including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must reside within 45 minutes of Greenville, NC
