Required Skills/Experience: Both medical and surgical skill sets are required. Experience with wound vacs and solid orthopedic experience is required. First-time travelers may be considered only if they have several years of experience caring for postoperative surgical patients, especially orthopedic and gastrointestinal surgeries.
If you want to take 4-7 days off, you must be willing to make up that time. You must fulfill the full 13 week contract. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.
Adult and geriatric patient population. Primarily cares for postoperative bariatric, orthopedic, spine, general surgery, and gynecologic surgery patients, as well as some medicine patients when beds are available. Receives 10-20 post-ops/day. This unit includes cardiac and O2 monitoring capability. Uses wound vacs and orthopedic equipment. High turnover rate; clinicians must be comfortable with multiple admissions and discharges per shift. Available support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and a unit secretary.
Self-scheduling is subject to manager final approval. Expected to work 3/5 winter holidays. Every other weekend.
Float to other units within the clinician’s skill set.
AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear "Yes" or "No" response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027, 01/18/2027, 05/31/2027, 07/04/2027, 09/06/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
