Job summary

DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, part of Tenet Healthcare, is seeking a Unit Clerk for the Telemetry unit. You will perform clerical, reception, and sitter duties, support telemetry monitoring, and assist with patient flow and documentation in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include patient transport coordination, medical record handling, and coordinating with clinical staff. Prior hospital experience and familiarity with EMR/CPOE are preferred; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• 1. High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2. Previous hospital experience preferred.
• 3. Six months of prior job experience where substantial computer usage is significant part of job; OR 3 credit hours of computer classes in computer training (keyboarding, navigation, specific applications) or college program; OR Equivalent combination of coursework and experience.
• 4. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unit Maintenance and Clerical Support - manages paper medical record processes, orders stock, maintains inventory, and handles downtime policies.
• Technology Maintenance - reboots designated programs, manages telemetry equipment, and opens help desk tickets.
• Customer Service - greets visitors, orients patients, answers calls and phones, and schedules follow-up or discharge appointments.
• Patient Care Support - monitors telemetry, assists with EMR/CPOE, arranges transportation, and supports bed tracking and charting.
• Unit Business - attends in-services, checks email, and supports process improvement initiatives.
• Sitting/Sitter Assistance - observes patients, accompanies for studies, and responds to requests.
