Job summary

SAIC is seeking a highly experienced Space Warfighting Analysis Center analyst to support TT&C and satellite control modeling, data analytics, and constructive simulations. You will collaborate with SWAC, SSDP, and IC partners to build accurate models of space and ground data networks and to translate results into actionable insights for leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in space and ground data networks, satellite control, and TT&C.
  • Experience in/orbital mechanics and space control.
  • Ability to use modeling and simulation to inform force design metrics.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud solutions.
  • Ability to translate technical information for leadership and coordinate across external organizations.
  • Education: Bachelor's minimum; advanced degree preferred in space-relevant field.
  • Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph; SAP/SAR clearance ability.

Responsibilities

  • Support SWAC Force Design analytic efforts and improve software for cognitive assessment.
  • Evaluate, modify, and test models in SPySE and other software tools.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to deliver informed models.
  • Improve user interfaces and communicate TT&C and satellite control requirements to inform satellite tasking.
  • Create written and presentation products from analytic results.
  • Build products using Microsoft Office.

Job description

Description

The qualified applicant will support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) with various lines of effort to include, but not limited to, modeling, constructive simulation, prototyping, data analytics and visualizations, visual storytelling, and human-in-the-loop analytic efforts. Specifically, the applicant will serve as a subject matter expert on space and ground data networks, satellite control, and telemetry, tracking, and commanding (TT&C) architectures and the associated requirements of satellite architectures. The applicant will serve as a liaison between SWAC’s Spectrum Warfare Program (SWP) and Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) to ensure that SWP architectures and models are represented accurately in SWAC and SSDP analysis and human-in-the-loop analytic events. The applicant will work with SWAC, program offices, IC partners, and the rest of the USSF to gather information to model and represent capabilities required for analytic efforts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support and facilitate SWAC Force Design analytic efforts, testing and improving software for cognitive assessment and constructive analysis
  • Evaluate, modify, and test models in SPySE and other software tools
  • Collaborate with fellow industry Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver the best-informed models
  • Improve user interfaces for operators, and communicate TT&C and satellite control requirements to inform satellite tasking
  • Take results from analytic efforts and create written and presentation products
  • Build products using Microsoft Office
Qualifications

Must have overall min. 9 years of experience, with BS degree, will consider education in lieu of a degree

  • 5 years of experience in space and ground data networks, satellite control, and TT&C
  • Experience in / background in orbital mechanics and space control
  • Ability to use modeling and simulation to analyze and inform force design metrics
  • Familiarity with the use of native Clouds solutions such as Azure, etc.
  • Ability to self-identify and execute work tasks
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply analytic problem solving skills to operational and strategic level problems, accurately translate technical information for leadership, and establish partnering relationships and coordinate across external organizations
  • Education: Bachelor's degree minimum, advanced degree preferred, in space-relevant engineering or science field (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Communications, Physics, etc.)
  • Security Clearance: Must maintain TS/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph and able to be cleared for Special Access Program/Required (SAP/SAR) clearance level.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000.
