Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

• At least six months in a role with substantial computer usage.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Able to complete 3–4 week program in basic cardiac arrhythmia monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assist medical and nursing staff in continuous monitoring of patient ECG rhythms.
• Initiate tracing if rhythm changes and alert nursing staff.
• Maintain and monitor monitoring equipment and report malfunctions.
• Transcribe orders and manage patient data on-line terminal.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Computer coursework or college program

Hospital experience (preferred)

Medical terminology knowledge (preferred)

Basic cardiac arrhythmia monitoring program completion
