Job summary

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland seeks a Telemetry Technician – Cardiac Telemetry for a .6 FTE night shift (7pm–7:30am, two 12‑hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

The Tech monitors ECG activity, documents findings, and reports changes to the RN, acting as a critical communication link on the telemetry unit and supporting patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical terminology course or equivalent.
• Coursework/completion of a basic ECG course, or completion within 30 days of hire.
• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association at hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, document, and report the ECG activity of patients on the telemetry unit.
• Communicate changes in cardiac rhythms with the RN.

The Tech‑Monitor under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse has the responsibility for monitoring, documenting, and reporting the ECG activity of patients on the telemetry unit. The position is an important communication link with the RN regarding changes in cardiac rhythms.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training and satisfactory completion of a Medical terminology course. Or equivalent educ/experience.
• Coursework/Training and completion of a basic ECG course, or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS – American Heart Association.
• Preferred Qualification: Able to work in a stimulating environment with flashing lights and ongoing noise.
