Job summary

Department of Veterans Affairs in Chicago is seeking a Telemetry Stepdown Unit Nurse Manager to direct staff orientation, training, and performance assessment. You will oversee high-quality nursing care for telemetry patients and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to drive care improvements.

The Nurse Manager leads unit operations, acts as a role model, and may cover other nurse managers as needed. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4pm, with some flexibility; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing in any US state or territory.
• Transcript required if education is used to qualify.
• Education from accredited colleges/universities recognized by US Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise staff orientation, training, and development.
• Ensure high-quality nursing care for telemetry stepdown patients.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and quality initiatives.
• Lead unit operations and provide coverage for other Nurse Managers as needed.
