Job summary

Longview Regional Medical Center is interviewing for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Surgical Med/Surg Unit for night shifts. The RN will provide patient-centered care using the nursing process and collaborate with physicians and the care team to achieve positive outcomes.

Telemetry duties and critical care skills are required for this unit. The role emphasizes safety, infection control, and patient education while supporting family involvement and efficient care coordination.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of clinical nursing in an acute care setting.
• RN licensure in the state where practicing.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care per nursing process and policies.
• Assess patients, document findings, and report changes to care team.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency and scope.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code team activities.
