Job summary

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is part of the Patient Care Services Team, overseeing nursing care for a group of patients and families using independent judgment and collaboration with the care team. The RN role includes leadership, partnership, and supervision across shifts.

Responsibilities include establishing physician relationships, delegating care, monitoring progress, and preparing for discharge, with direct reporting to senior unit management.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• RN license to practice in Michigan required.
• AHA BLS required.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• Delegates, assesses, provides and evaluates patient care.
• Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members.
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge.
• Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making.
