Job summary

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Patient Care Services Team, providing nursing care with independent judgment and collaboration across the care team. The RN leads, mentors and coordinates activities to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include establishing relationships with physicians, delegating and evaluating care, and preparing patients for discharge while participating in shared decision-making with senior management.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan.
• American Heart Association BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• Delegates, assesses, provides and evaluates patient care.
• Monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge.
• Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making.
