Job summary

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority is seeking a Registered Nurse for our 19-bed Medical Telemetry unit. You will provide bedside care for patients with acute cardiac and neuro conditions, including chest pain, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and stroke patients.

This fast-paced unit emphasizes telemetry, cardiac, and neuro assessment skills within a collaborative care setting, with opportunities to participate in governance and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in applicable state(s).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications may be needed based on specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patient and family engagement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation and can float to other units as needed.
