Job summary

A clinically competent, registered nurse at University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital provides safe, therapeutic care to acutely ill patients requiring medical/surgical or maternal child health services. Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Current California RN licensure is required.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications are required where appropriate.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• One-year acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the unit Manager and/or the Director of the department.
• Adherence to identified nursing standards of practice.
• Annually demonstrates competence in critical behaviors for assigned area.
• Promotes unity and teamwork with a positive attitude and relationships.
• IV competency in IV therapy.
• Demonstrates competency in medication administration.
• Plan, direct, implement, and evaluate each patient’s care under RN leadership.
• Participate in organization-wide Performance Improvement activities.
• Demonstrate USC's IRAISE values in professional interactions.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Manager / Director / Clinical Lead RN.
