Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintained
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days
• ACLS certificate within 30 days and maintained
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• Acute care hospital experience preferred
• RN-BC or similar certification preferred
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' conditions, vital signs, and cardiac rhythms to create individualized care plans
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment for remote monitoring
• Communicate with the physician about changes in clinical condition and diagnostic results
• Administer medications as prescribed, including IV meds, and monitor for adverse reactions
• Provide hands-on care including wound care, treatments, ADLs, and emotional support
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care in Telemetry Unit
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions and escalate to physicians as needed
• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation

Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN), sometimes referred to as a Telemetry RN or Tele RN. A Tele RN specializing in attending to patients within our telemetry units, including those needing cardiac monitoring. The Tele RN will monitor and interpret our patient's vital signs, such as heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation level. Continuous monitoring of patients, by the Telemetry RN enables gathering real-time data to make informed decisions regarding patient care, ensuring early detection of abnormalities or changes in the patient's condition.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, to create individualized care plans
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, which allows for remote monitoring of patients' heart rates and rhythms
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology
• Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions
• Provide hands-on care to patients, including wound care, administering treatments, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and treatments, as well as provide guidance on self-care practices and lifestyle modifications in the Telemetry Unit
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions throughout shift and be able to address any concerns to the physician as soon as possible
• Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Qualifications

Medical-Surgical Nurse-Board Certified (RN-BC) or similar certification; preferred.8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
