Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The Advanced Cardiac Care Unit (ACCU) is a 48‑bed, fast‑paced cardiac care unit that provides a challenging and supportive environment for skilled nurses.

About the Role

Orientation: Must attend a 2‑week orientation session (Mon‑Fri 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.).

Work hours: 36 hours per week with a 6:45 a.m.–7:15 p.m. shift pattern. Holiday rotation and every third weekend required.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care to support licensed professional nurses by ensuring a safe environment, collecting vital data, and communicating changes to the nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Implement direct patient care under nursing supervision, promoting patient‑ and family‑centered care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, vital signs, intake & output, fall and pressure ulcer prevention, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, and point‑of‑care testing as requested.
• Collect clinical data and report changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assist nurse with patient and family education, document all patient care activities accurately, and act as a 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensure availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient’s needs.
• Participate in patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance activities and professional development.

Minimum Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

No experience required. Entry‑level position.

Licenses & Certifications

Certified Nurse Assistant preferred.
