Job summary

Dameron Hospital in Stockton, CA is seeking a Unit Clerk to provide clerical and receptionist duties in the nursing unit, using strong computer and communications skills. Transcribes provider orders, monitors telemetry, and alerts nursing staff to alarms and changes, while greeting customers to promote a positive collaborative atmosphere.

This is a union, per diem night shift role. The role requires proficiency in MedSeries, PharmPro, Excel and related systems, with a focus on service excellence

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; AA/BA/BS preferred.
• Previous Unit Clerk experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year of hands-on customer service experience.
• Must have computer skills and experience with data entry and order entry programs.
• Must have good organizational skills and be able to detect and avoid errors.
• Must be able to type and use a computer keyboard efficiently.
• Current BLS Certification through AHA required.
• National Association certification (NAHUC) preferred.
• Arrhythmia Recognition - proof of current competency upon hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and receptionist duties in the nursing unit.
• Greets and directs visitors, patients, physicians, and staff with service excellence.
• Programs WestCom system and answers call lights.
• Maintains telemetry monitoring and alerts nursing staff to alarms and rhythm changes.
• Assembles charts and maintains patient records and discharge logs.
• Processes chart orders and enters them into the MAR.
• Maintains supplies and the unit environment for safety and organization.
• Delivers non-narcotic medications and transports specimens as needed.
